Prescription drugs have been used across America for a range of minor and major illnesses. Over 22 million US citizens take prescription drugs for non medical reasons which is deemed illegal. This is an alarming number of individuals who choose to use prescription drugs for no reason at all. Abuse of prescription drugs is often related to the misuse of prescription drugs in the households. In fact the number of abuse of prescription drugs has risen by 17 percent in the past year.
Doctors and hospitals are now urged to be more about of the prescription of prescription drugs to ensure that misuse is minimal. This however is difficult to monitor, especially with 22 million individuals using prescription drugs.
